A Nurse Changed My Life

She may not know how, but I hope this recap gives you reasons to change your views towards insults too, that’s if you are in the position I was in.

Before 2016 after Graduating from the University of Buea In 2012 which I was supposed to in 2011 but failed, most of my close friends and family knew I was lazy and if I had been around for a longer period of time I would have had the chance to piss someone off who could tell me directly to my face how worthless I was.

I loved music-making and I knew I had the skills that will have me listed amongst the top Artists/Producers in a short run, but I was short-sited towards the business part of showbiz until 2015 yet the little money coming in usually as tips couldn’t support my daily hangouts, transportation and most importantly take care of the girl I was dating at the time. I didn’t want to do any side hustle until afterward, as I usually make useless excuses for the low payments and how much I should be making instead.

But this is not the story about showbiz so let me fast forward to the part in which the nurse was involved.

In 2016, one unfortunate day, in the middle of the night, my girlfriend felt sick and it was critical. Good thing, I was on my regular visits about to spend the night (because she couldn’t visit me under my Mama’s room) but the sad news was,  I was damn broke with exactly 300frs in my wallet which was my transportation fare to head back home in the morning.

Luckily enough she had 3000frs, which I took and carried her to the hospital. After paying for taxi fare less than 2600frs was left.

Yes, I used to see my self as being a cool guy who could always hide my unworthiness behind cool smiles and cool casual wears because MUMMY usually funded for my basic needs. I never believe there will come a time in life that I would wish my life was switched off or formatted.

While at the hospital, the nurse asked who she was to me? And I Said I am her boyfriend, then I was asked to deposit 3000frs in order to get the doctor’s attention which made me pause for a second and I believe she could notice that I didn’t have it in full…Because this girl was beautiful and looked pretty much like I was too young and too broke to be dating her at the time, the nurse when ahead and said, “Oh my, I don’t know what these girls nowadays are looking for from these Garri boys(Rascals) like us”…
Oooh, my heart stopped.?
You may want to take a break and listen to Insights.
My latest Release.
And she went on describing me with all the most disgusting and diminishing words I have ever heard. That was just the first part when I heard her still trying to advise my girlfriend of her choices while abusing me like I wasn’t in the room or like I broke her heart in her past life or like we knew each other before, in the ward with 3 other nurses present while she was in pain (which I later realize she didn’t make much sense of it, luckily ?)…Good Lawd! She went ahead to called me a loser and added that boys like me could never be successful in life.

I learned the nurse was fun of insulting other young boys and girls in a similar situation, but my case seemed different because I was actually improperly dressed but I couldn’t get aggressive like someone who could mean to dress the way I did only I was agitated.

I could start a fight at the hospital but that wasn’t in me, I could curse back at the nurse but I could sense my wrongs, all I could IMAGINE was me coming back to the same hospital as a gentleman who could pay HIS bills with some tips while smiling

That was when I knew exactly who I wanted to become. I was ashamed of my life and I knew only I could fix it. I’m not yet that man but I’m close.?

I never shared this story but I guess my mum after reading this would know why I started working as a laborer/supplier at a construction site the following day.

Only a few people will read up till here, if u did then we must have something in common or u found my life-changing story inspiring. In all, not all Angels carry swords and fly wings, some actually carry insults. ??

Thanks for reading my story.
And thanks For All the Support.

I am really impressed and proud of you taking that bold step to turn your life around for the good. Watching you in class always seems to me like you were a joker but today I have a different impression about you. Keep raising, for the sky is just your beginning. Remember to Jesus first and everything will fall in place. Love you
